We are busy unpacking work this afternoon for the new ’ A Natural History ’ exhibition which launches this weekend. We will be holding a reception in store on Saturday the 11th between 4o’clock and 6 o’clock, where drinks will be served and there will be a talk by Michael Blencowe from the Sussex Wildlife Trust. I greet you this morning with news of Lion Street Store’s next exhibition. From the 10th of May we will be presenting the work of ‘A Natural History’. Mark Greco produces a series of silkscreen and giclee prints based around the wildlife and birds of the South Eastern coast.

” The prints that I produce are influenced by my interest in science, nature and what I see through my explorations in the Sussex and British landscape. By combining digital image making with traditional printmaking techniques I use colour, pattern and symbolism to create bold pieces that reflect some of the character, habits and stories behind the subjects I depict “

These striking images will grace the walls of the store for the month of May and we will shortly be announcing some special events to coincide with the show.

Lion Street Store’s Book Corner has never looked so good !

We have some wonderful new titles in including ‘Stuck’ by store favourite Oliver Jeffers, “A book about trying to solve a growing problem by throwing things at it”.

Alongside this there are copies of ‘This Moose Belongs To Me’ and ‘The Heart In The Bottle’, beautiful titles by Alain Gree and everyone’s favourite childhood tale ‘The Tiger Who Came To Tea’. There are even more titles on their way, we will be sure to keep you updated. In the meantime, have a wonderful week !

Lion Street Store took a trip to Pick Me Up yesterday and we’re pleased to tell you it was their best show so far. Alongside our favourite store contributors Tom Frost and Nicholas John Frith exhibiting with the brilliant Soma Gallery, were some wonderful new artists whose work we hope to bring you over the coming months, also some great speakers and loads to do for children. The show continues until Sunday the 28th at Somerset House.

The recent arrival of lots of lovely baby boys has inspired this new gift guide. Card, present and wrap all in one.
